Of course with Lennon – McCartney writing those classics that you never get out or your head it was most likely not on purpose. However, when the break-up took place and George was on his own, he produced and wrote some very genuine and memorable classics himself. I cannot eat an apple today without thinking of his song “Apple Scruffs” – thanks for reminding us of this Unique World figures anniversary of birth today… Reply Maggie Carpenter on February 25, 2013 at 4:18 pm Joseph I agree completely. He has been referred to as The Quiet Beatle – and I suspect he must have liked it that way or he would worked to have a more prominent presence. Every great collaborative effort requires that each participant find their niche, and clearly each of the group did – at least for a while. Let’s face it – The Beatles would not have been The Beatles without the unique contribution each of them made. We are fortunate that George was able to shine in his own light when given the opportunity, for he gifted us with some truly wonderful works.
