In the words of Gregory House, M.D.
“Everybody lies.”
The lies that hurt the most,
are the ones we tell ourselves.
In our hearts we know the truth,
so why do we do it?
Dostoyevsky said:
“Above all, don’t lie to yourself. The man who lies to himself and listens to his own lie comes to a point that he cannot distinguish the truth within him, or around him, and so loses all respect for himself and for others. And having no respect he ceases to love.”
Living half a life in a vanilla relationship
is living a lie.
Believing I could be happy in such a state,
was lying to myself.
I stopped doing that some time ago.
I think I may have waited too long….

We do this, don’t we? Because we crave connection….and it sometimes seems to take too long to come….we try, just once more, to settle. Sigh…..
Oh Sharron, we have been driving down the same road. Just have to stop taking those dang, tempting exits that offer us shelter. The roof always caves in.
Am always so honored when someone elects to reblog one of my musings. Thank you.
